Why I Built Corporate Kim

I divorced Corporate America, and I mean that the way people mean it about a marriage. I gave it everything I had. I knew it inside out. And when I was done, I left. Full stop.

But there was one thing that I still loved about Corporate America that I didn't want to give up. It was having career conversations with other Black females and sharing what I had learned over two decades. I was an executive in boardrooms working alongside the C-suite every day. That wasn't by accident.

I was never a victim in my career, and I do not believe in victimism. I believe in plans. In action. In looking straight at what is happening around you and being honest about what can be changed and what cannot.

So I took what I believed and used in my own career and wrote it down. A pattern surfaced that I hadn't realized before. I had approached my career in four ways (four pillars): Visibility, Navigating the Workplace, Your Circle, and Career CEO.

Being able to still influence and aid other women with what I've learned, in a way that lets them start from anywhere with practical, immediate tactics that aren't overwhelming and protect their peace, is why I built Corporate Kim.
